Shingles
The Shingrix vaccine (Shingles) was added to the National Immunisation Program for people over the age of 65 on the 1st of November 2023.
This vaccine replaced the previously funded Zostavax vaccine. Please contact the clinic to check your eligibility for this vaccine. Shingles presents as a painful rash, most commonly with blisters and can be followed by chronic pain.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a virus which commonly causes respiratory infections in babies and young children, but it can affect people of all ages.
Most of the time, RSV causes a mild illness with common cold-like symptoms, but sometimes RSV can cause pneumonia, trigger asthma, and in very young children cause bronchiolitis or breathing problems. RSV can also make older people severely unwell. For more information regarding RSV, please see About RSV .

As of the 31st July 2025, GP Assist Tasmania has ended.
What Happens Now for Patients ?
Healthdirect Australia now provides the after-hours GP telehealth service across Tasmania. Patients can call 1800 022 222 any time for health advice. During after-hours, callers speak first with a registered nurse. If a GP consultation is needed, the nurse may arrange a free phone or video call with a GP. GPs can issue e-prescriptions via SMS and update the patient's My Health Record for continuity of care. For emergencies, patients should still call 000 or go to a hospital emergency department.
Victoria Street Clinic and Patrick Street Clinic will only open on a Saturday morning between 9am -12pm for on call clinic (no clinic available on Sundays).
- Tasmanian Lung Service Appoinments 2025
Tasmanian Lung Service will no longer be with us starting in 2025. Their last day with us is the 11th of December 2024 and from January 2025 they will be seeing our patients at Health Dynamics Devonport (Shop 1/142 William Street Devonport - in the Fourways).
