Our healthcare team offers a wide range of services and pride ourselves on providing exceptional care.

We are an accredited teaching practice for medical students and GP Registrars.

Our practice is also home to a number of Visiting Allied Health Professionals.

Our doctors have extensive experience in general practice.  We aim to provide the highest standard of patient care, taking a quality approach to all general practice situations. Our doctors strive to remain up to date with the latest developments in medicine and have a firm commitment to their own ongoing professional development allowing them to continually improve the level of service we provide to our community.

Whether it’s protecting your young child, chronic disease or for those over 65, Victoria Street Clinic offer a range of government-funded vaccinations.

Other vaccines are available for some international travel, or in the event of specific or medical risk.  These can be arranged privately with a prescription from your doctor.

We have several female General Practitioners who have a special interests in health issues specific to women which occur throughout the various stages of their lives. 

We also have doctors who are trained in Mirena insertions.

With a dedicated procedure room, specifically designed to enable minor surgical procedures our doctors can provide a range of options in a safe, sterile environment ranging from hormone implants to skin excisions.

Our clinical staff take a proactive approach to preventative medicine. Talk to your doctor about a checkup relevant to your current stage in life.

Our doctors and nursing staff keep up to date with travel information to ensure we can offer you the latest recommendations regarding immunisations for your peace of mind.  We are an accredited Yellow Fever Clinic and stock the vaccine.

Our doctors provide workers compensation consultations.  Aiming to work closely with employers to ensure that workers compensation involves no/limited time off work (where practical).  We also offer pre-employment medicals, driving medicals, diving medicals and aviation medicals.

Our practice understands that having a sick child can be a very worrying time.  We aim to minimise any potential barriers to seeing a doctor by seeing them in a timely manner where ever possible.

All of our doctors are experienced in providing pre-pregnancy counselling, have a thorough antenatal shared care approach and we offer postnatal 6 weeks checks.

We can assist with a broad range of mental health issues and ensure strict confidentiality is always maintained. Please request a double appointment with you GP to discuss any concerns regarding your mental health.

Men’s health like all areas of medicine is an evolving area with new treatment options becoming available.  We are committed to professional, discreet and totally confidential high-quality care within a welcoming, calm, respectful environment.

We can assist with a broad range of mental health issues and ensure strict confidentiality is always maintained.

Government vaccines are supplied at no charge for the following patients;

  • All people aged 6 months to less than 5 years
  • All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over
  • Pregnant women (during any stage of pregnancy)
  • All people aged 65 years and over
  • People aged 6 months and over with medical conditions which increase the risk of influenza disease complications

Where a patient has a chronic disease and meets Medicare criteria, they may be eligible for a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangement. These are plans that you and your doctor can use to tailor your health care to meet your current health needs.

Your plan is reviewed on a regular basis (3 – 6 months)  If you meet Medicare requirements you may be eligible for a Team Care Arrangement which allows you  to access 5 partly subsidised visits (by Medicare) to an allied health professional to help with your care.

If you or a family member requires an interpreter service, we can organise this for you.  Our practice encourages patients to utilise the free Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS) (131 450). The TIS is a free service available 24 hours a day via telephone at the time of consultation or onsite at the practice if 48 hour’s notice is given. The On-site Interpreter Booking Form is monitored between 9 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday, Melbourne time. Outside these hours it is necessary to complete the Translating and Interpreting Service Request for On-Site Interpreting form and fax to 1300 654 151.Further information about the TIS along with appropriate form is available on the TIS website www.immi.gov.au/tis/

A free interpreting service is available for patients who are deaf and use Australian Sign Language (AUSLAN). Contact the National AUSLAN Interpreter Booking and Payment Service (NABS) on 1800 246 945 or visit the NABS website www.nabs.org.au/ for further information

Teaching Practice – Registrars and Medical Students

Our practice is an accredited training practice for medical students and GP Registrars. From time to time you may be asked if a medical student can be involved in your consultation. This is a valuable learning experience for all concerned. If you do not wish for a medical student to be in attendance at your consultation, please feel free to tell your GP Victoria Street Clinic is committed to medical training and education. We aim to educate registrars and medical students to the very highest level of competency in a modern and supportive environment. All staff are committed to ongoing education and communication within the practice.
